After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. In her capacity as a speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne in all her cooking journey, has said that it's an honor to be in a position to share her passion for food with other people.
